On the episode of American Idol Brent Keith Smith sang a country song called “Hick Town” original by Jason Aldean.
The judges commented on his performance as
Randy said “I like that you returned to the country roots, new edge with own country swagger”
Kara – “I like you - thinks he was a little safe, more in him than that”
Paula – “Wants American to remember auditions, safe song for you, I definitely see you as country artist”
Simon – “You’ve got one shot - nice guy, nice voice - you did something safe, not original, you may have blown opportunity by being forgetable”
Paula also mentions about the successes of Josh Gracin and Bucky Covington. Simon asked “What happened with Bucky”
Well “Bucky Covington” is about to begin his first USO tour on Feb. 17 with his visit to Kosovo. And then will continue his journey and visit U.S, army outpost in the Netherlands, and also has planned three stops in Germany.
Bucky Covington said "I've been looking forward to doing a USO tour for a very long time" "To be able to perform for and meet the men and women who serve our country is a great honor. I'm also really excited to bring a little bit of home to our troops overseas, and since this will be my first trip outside the U.S., except for a short visit to Jamaica, I know it'll be a big adventure."
